Anu Malik has finally broken his silence on his nephew Amaal Mallik’s recent allegations. The composer not only called them false but also said that he doesn’t want to waste energy reacting to it.
A lie told 1,000 times
Anu told Hindustan Times, “A lie told 1,000 times will never become the truth. One can’t waste energy reacting to everything.” The 64-year-old adds, “My father (composer Sardar Malik) always told me, never allow poison to churn in your mind. If you do, you’ll never be a good composer. People may hurt you, but they can’t take away your talent, that’s yours. I sit at my piano, make a new tune, and that’s my answer to the world.”
Upcoming song details
Talking about his upcoming song, the composer shared, “It is a very beautiful, tender story about a girl who has to choose between love and fame. The director told me, ‘I want songs that will stand the test of time.’ That’s how it all began.”“I feel like I’ve been underused and underutilised. There’s still so much more I can give,” he added.
Amaal Mallik’s allegations
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Amaal Mallik shared personal and professional grievances against his uncle, Anu Malik. He claimed Anu had ruined his father Daboo Malik’s career and mistreated his mother Jyoti during her pregnancy. He also further shared that during the Mumbai floods, he was left stranded while Anu’s family locked their Mercedes. Amaal also revealed that he said he chose not to support Anu during the #MeToo allegations, as he no longer considers him family.
